In his January 2012 State of the City address, Mayor Thomas M. Menino directed the Superintendent “to appoint a citywide group of dedicated individuals” to support the integrity of the community engagement process and to provide feedback to the district on proposed school choice plans as they are developed. The External Advisory Committee (EAC) has been working hard to fulfill this charge.
Through the leadership of co-chairs Dean Hardin Coleman and Helen Dájer, the EAC has focused its work into three subcommittees: Community Engagement, Data, and Defining Quality & Equitable Access.
